Losing my retainer

I remember losing my retainer at a Wendy’s while I was out to eat with my grandparents. It turned out that I had left it on my tray and threw it out when I dumped my tray. I remember taking the trash bag home and digging through it to find my retainer.
A day of untold sadness

I remember waking up to my tv because back then I used it as an alarm clock. I remember seeing coverage that a plane had hit one of the world trade center towers. I remember thinking how the same thing happened to the Empire State Building during World War II.
Styrofoam plane

I remember my grandparents buying my brother and I this big styrofoam plane that came in three pieces. There were two wing pieces that slid into a large fuselage piece. Once assembled, the plane was probably 4 feet long by 5 feet wide. We would toss the thing down the hill in my grandparents back yard and sometimes the wing would fall off and it would crash. I saw one of these planes hanging in a second hand shop recently and it was probably the first time I’ve thought of this in over 20 years.
